VOC Moon upholds the status quo? 1 by kerenhappuch Hi all, Another relationship chart.... I know you're rolling your eyes! But hey, this is the stuff life is made of... I'm very interested in the outcome of this chart because it contains a detrimented and VOC Moon. I am very interested to see how this will manifest. We've had VOC discussions before on this board, and as far as I can gather the possible interpretations of it are: 1. No change 2. Nothing will come of the matter 3. No control over the course of events. I ended this relationship over two weeks ago, intending at the time to really end it (I have thought about ending it before but never have until now). However fast forward two weeks and I discover to my annoyance that I actually miss having him around (we've been having this "thing" for over 3 months). Hence I cast the chart to (supposedly) see if it was a good idea to contact him again or not. Which brings me to a proposed 4th meaning of VOC Moon: "You're going to ignore this chart and do as you please anyway!" After looking at this chart and seeing the decidedly substandard state of significators, receptions and aspects, I went ahead and contacted him anyway. We are (supposedly) going to meet this week. I'm really interested to find out what will happen given the state of this chart! Significators: Female (L1) : Mercury, Moon (emotional being), Venus (sexual being). Male (L7) : Jupiter, Sun (sexual being). My thoughts on this chart: There are no applying aspects between the female / male significators. This translates as a lack of action. From first glance it would seem that the verdict of the chart is "Nothing is going to happen". Which makes me look again at that detrimented VOC Moon and think of the phrase "Upholding the status quo". This concept of the "status quo" is an interesting thing, however, because brutal honesty allows me to see that the status quo of this relationship is actually that it is changeable, undefined, haphazard and generally on and off. The lack of aspects also reflects the lack of connection between us - "emotionally unavailable" - this is why I (attempted to) finish it! Not to mention the lack of mutual reception... - However, they do have a common interest, Saturn, which is (surprise surprise) Lord 5 - love affairs/romance/sex. This does not surprise me, but the neatness of it does intimidate me somewhat! Overall I think this chart is spookily spot-on - the peregrine/mildly dignified/detrimented significators, the lack of aspects, house placements... Even L7 being conjunct Vega, which is a perfect description of the male's personality. Please, post all thoughts you may have! I will post again to let you know if he keeps the engagement and how it goes! It's just like Hollyoaks Further to the discussion on trying to squeeze every last detail out of a chart, any thoughts on that Mars at 29 Gemini at the top of the chart? Moon and L7 have common interest in him (exaltation). I expected to see Mars as his or my L12 (relationship characterised by his recreational drug/alcohol use - don't worry, nothing illegal!!) But Mars doesn't rule any significant houses that I can see. Keren Quote Tue Mar 04, 2008 6:39 pm
2 by Gunhilde Hi KH, Well, Mars rules the 3rd (and unhappy 8th) in this chart, and moves to sextile Lord 5, Saturn Rx. Perhaps a discussion about the direction or nature of the relationship? With Mars in an angular house and a tidy sextile betwixt them, this is a possible meaning. POF also sits on the 3rd angle. VOC moon, I agree, would probably mean not much will change. 3 by cosmicdolphin Keren 1. 1/7th no aspect 2. moon is void i wouldnt even go further with this to be honest cheers CD Quote Tue Mar 04, 2008 8:09 pm
4 by Pete Hi Keren, I think it's worth bearing in mind that a Void Moon doesn't mean that "nothing will happen". This is a common misconception of Lilly's interpretation. What he actually said was "never shall a thing go handsomely forward." To me this means that the matter will end badly, or at least disappointingly. Bonatti declares similarly when he states: "The Nineteenth Consideration is, to behold the Moon if she be "void of course", for then it signifies an impediment to the thing in question: it will not come to a good end, nor be accomplished; but the querent shall be forced to desist with shame and loss." Add that to Uranus on the 7th cusp, which suggests that the man is unpredictable and rebellious, and I'd say that the meeting isn't going to go well for you. Don't expect too much ok? 5 by cosmicdolphin Pete True but if there is no aspect, moon void verifies that it will not go anywhere cheers CD Quote Tue Mar 04, 2008 10:09 pm
6 by Pete Hey CD True but if there is no aspect, moon void verifies that it will not go anywhere Right, yes. My gut feeling here is that the guy won't show up for the meeting. cheers, Pete Quote Tue Mar 04, 2008 10:23 pm
7 by cosmicdolphin Pete another thing take a look where Saturn is it is a ruler of 5th house and is in 12th house to make things worse it is retrograding and venus/merc are separating HOWEVER venus and merc will conjunct at 14 deg pisces *i believe* it shoudl really heat things up for the querent.. which makes me believe she will meet someone new and will be swept off her feet! do you agree? cheers CD Quote Wed Mar 05, 2008 12:01 pm

I'm not sure why you find Venus and Mercury significant CD, unless it's because Mercury is the querent's sig and Venus is the generic significator of romance? If that's the case I personally wouldn't get too excited about that future conjunction between them, as it occurs a whole sign further along. Right now it's just potential. Also I think it best to simply focus on answering the question and not to try to extrapolate other scenarios by teasing every last ounce of significance from the chart. Moon VOC--you change your mind 9 by spirlhelix The Moon represents the action of the chart. Her sign shows what is ruling her. In this chart, she will move from Capricorn, a nostalgic, backward-looking sign, to Aquarius, a sign which is more focussed on the future. Both are ruled by the same planet, Saturn posited in the twelfth, his joy. Moon makes no aspects within traditional orb when she enters Aquarius. If I had to give a thorough analysis of what I thought this Void of Course Moon could mean, I would suggest it means that you will change your mind about returning to this relationship. You will begin to think of your future, and if that means no relationship for a little while (Moon Void in a new sign), then that is better than to go on with your plan of action being ruled by a peregrine Saturn joyfully creating an unpleasant environment in your twelfth house. Hope this is useful! Warmly, Pam "Id rather learn from one bird how to sing than teach ten thousand stars how not to dance" Quote Wed Mar 05, 2008 1:24 pm

11 by SRS What about Jupiter applying to trine the ASC? Do you think that might be indicative of the two of you meeting up? Or do you think it was more a case of him being on your mind (obviously!) at the time of the question? And what about the other thing I've heard a VOC Moon (Goldstein Jacobson) can mean, "nothing to worry about" (meaning, I suppose, things will go as planned, or contacting him would be okay, which I assume it was??). 12 by Pete Since the Ascendant moves faster than Jupiter the aspect is actually separating by 2 degrees, reflecting Keren's decision to end the relationship 2 weeks ago. Cheers, Pete Quote Wed Mar 05, 2008 2:26 pm
