Thanks for publicising this and the University of Kent event. ...you're really spoiling us!

They both seem excellent events and well worth going to. I just wish I lived a bit closer to the venues.

I doubt I will make the Canterbury event although I think i will try to get to Bath one. However, Dorian Greenbaum's paper at Canterbury looks particularly fascinating (excluding your paper own of course!) . She gave a related talk at the History of Astrology Conference at the Astrological Lodge in 2006 which was riveting.

I don't suppose you know if she plans to publish any of her research soon do you?

I know that Dorian hopes to publish her thesis as a book - but first she needs to finish the thesis, so I guess any book will be a year or two away at least.

You might want to keep an eye out for 'Culture and Cosmos' though, I think the next issue or two is going to contain the proceedings from last year's 'history of astrology' seminar at the Warburg Institute, which Dorian largely organised, and presented at.

I heard from Nick Campion today that the Warburg papers are currently printing in a special double issue of Culture and Cosmos.

It has been entitled: The Winding Courses of the Stars: Essays in Ancient Astrology (after a quote from ptolemy).

I cast a horary chart for the travel to the conference on the day of departure from Norway. I found this rather interesting due to Uranus on the 7th cusp. The 7th house represents our destination. Not only am I travelling to an astrology conference but Bath is naturally the place where Uranus was discovered. A visit to the Herschel museum was most certainly in order.

While on the topic of Uranus it was impossible to notice that the chart for the conference opening showed the Moon 14SC43, which again was but minutes from the Moon's location at 14SC56 in the discovery chart of Uranus. Hopefully, the pioneering work of Nicholas Campion and the Sophia Centre will prove equally important.
