Delinating the four types of Eclipses ? 1 by Yikkes! Folks, The four types of Eclipses. So there can be four types of Eclipse depending where the Eclipse is in relation to the North Node is and whether it's a Solar or Lunar Eclipse. 1/ Solar/ conjunct NN 2/ Lunar/ conjunct NN 3/ Solar/ conjunct SN 4/ Lunar/ conjunct SN My question is how would these quite different energies manifest on Earth? I'll offer a speculative judgement related to the Eclipse falling on a hypothetical MC. At this stage we won't worry which Sign is involved and assume that no planets are espescially involved linked in. So the 1/ Solar/ conjunct NN would energise the Public Image of the person and propel their Position forward. It might feel pretty overwelming but would turn out positive in the end. I'd feel that the 3/ Solar/ conjunct SN might be the opposite. ie in the short term it might be easy but the results would be positive in the long run. I base that on a simplistic understanding of the difference between the NN and SN. Further, I'd see the presence of the Sun on the MC as positive. It's said that Solar Eclipses deal with Male type things and Lunar to do with Female. There might be a little in that but that ignores the fundemental difference in the two in that the Solar involved a conjunction with the Moon and the Lunar an opposition. So when it's a Solar Eclipse it has to deal with the start of something significance and the Lunar more with the culmunation of something. So I'd be interested in how others might try to deliniate these and what sort of rules of thumb they use when considering the effects of Eclipses. Finally, is there and on-line resource that tells us which Saros Cycles is involved with a said Eclipse? Thanks, Hamish. Yikkes! Quote Sun Apr 20, 2008 5:18 pm
