I tried to send a private message the other day, but it didn't show up in the sentbox - it's just been sitting in the outbox for three days. I saw a comment from RC that a similar thing had happened with her.

Does a private message always stay in the outbox until the other person sees it, or is it waiting for Mercury to turn direct?

I'm not sure about this answer, but I'm guessing that the person you are trying to send to has a full inbox and needs to delete or move some messages over to the savebox to allow more messages to arrive.

I have to limit the number of messages because the messaging system is heavy on the server. Because I can't actively support it, I have thought about closing it altogether, but I keep it going on a limited basis in case people need an alternative to email to contact other members. In general, the system works OK if people use this as an emergency messaging system and not a replacement for email.

Hello Malcolm and Deb,

In this kind of forums the message appeares in your sent box if the other one has red them, and if her inbox is full, she will lose the oldest message.
