Germany and 9 november 1 by woodwater 9 nov is the birthdate of Weimar republic, the fall of Berlin wall, and the Crystall night. I wonder why this date is so important for Germany? Are they a Scorpio nation? _________________ Quote Sun Nov 09, 2008 4:24 pm
2 by granny_skot Germany was a bunch of principalities and I always wonder what birth date one could use for the country since it has been so many different things over the centuries. I mean would you use the recently rejoined east west date? I'm not certain that is right, america uses 4 july, but it certainly isnt' the same size or scope of a country that it was then. And Germany has had many forms over the centuries so I think its hard to pick a date. Though I do wander if the best data to use might not be that of Post Inquisition, so 1500's, when they seperated from Spain. In any case Germany is one of those countries where I think you cna argue about what its birth identity is. Granny Quote Sun Nov 09, 2008 4:43 pm
3 by Tom As Nick Campion notes, prior to 1990, Germany only existed as an economically and politically unified nation for 12 years under the Nazis. He gives two charts for modern day Germany which he defines as the unification of West Germany and East Germany after the fall of the Berlin Wall. The economic unification took place on July 1, 1990 00:00 CED - 2hrs Berlin, Germany The political unification took place on: Oct 3, 1990 00:00 CED - 2 hrs Berlin, Germany Tom Quote Mon Nov 10, 2008 1:14 am

Good point, but what would they use? Campion gives this for West Germany May 24, 1949 00:00 CED - 2 hours Bonn, Germany 5 Capricorn 55 rises Tom Quote Mon Nov 10, 2008 4:16 pm
6 by Richard Vetter Hi Tom, the widely accepted chart of West Germany is May 23, 1949; 16:00; Bonn (AS=Libra 5 39) Personally I don't know which date to take (maybe 1871?). Some time ago I wrote an article saying Germany's rising sign being Capricorn, its sun sign Aries and its MC Leo (Part I in English): http://astroinfo.astrologix.de/politik/srg/blarego.htm . Later I found out that Neptune is pretty strong in Germany, too (in German: http://astroinfo.astrologix.de/politik/ ... nepDeu.htm); not to forget the midth of Scorpio/ of the fixed signs; and Libra... Interesting that sun and ascendant are reversed with the federal republic chart where capricorn is now rising and gemini the sun sign Quote Wed Nov 12, 2008 4:41 pm
Horoscope of Germany 8 by Lunlumo The matter has been widely discussed in Germany. The horoscope of the Federal Republic is definitely based on the proclamation of its constitution in May 1949. Actually, what happened in 1990 was a kind of "enlargement" of the Federal Republic: the five newly founded "L?nder" of the former GDR became members of the Federal Republic (on the basis of the German constitution). The constitution had neither been changed nor had there been there any amendments whatsoever to the "Grundgesetz" (=German constitution). The chart based on October 3rd may have a lot to say with resepect to the process of the unification itself - a process that so far has not been finished. It certainly has not replaced the 1949 chart. With respect to the 1949 chart: Campion was right when referring to 24th May, 0:00 Mid-European daylight saving time (GMT - 2 hours). The "Grundgesetz" itself clearly states that teh new state came into being not until midnight May 24th - the day following the vote in the preceding afternoon. The evidence is most convincing - e.g. the one you get when having a close look at the years 1989/1990. This chart may be referred to either Bonn or Berlin - I strongly believe that Berlin is the one to be preferred - you get an AC at 10 degrees Capricorn then. The Berlin wall collapsed when Sat/Nept were conjunct that AC. As to the 1871 chart: most astrologers in Germany agree that it is still "working" - actually (I mentioned this before, some time ago here) the "Reich" has never ceased to exist - surprisingly this was due to Churchill and Truman themselves who (during the Potsdam conference in July 1945) firmly stated that the "Reich" was still existence. Here are two charts: the one referring to the proclamation of the first Kaiser: Jan. 18th, 1871, Versailles - and - preferably - this one: January 1st, 1871, Berlin, midnight, local time. This is the one most German astrologers prefer - including myself. Quote Tue Nov 18, 2008 12:58 pm
