Monday 23 February 2009 Growing Pains: the role of Saturn and Jupiter in the Nativity The time between the first Jupiter return and the first Saturn opposition, when the native is between twelve and fifteen years old, is a fascinating one. How does it feel to be an adolescent, how can parents and teachers help them and do these experiences match astrologers' expectation? High school English teacher and astrologer Alex Trenoweth explores the complexities of being a teenager and shows you how astrology can help. Alex Trenoweth has been engaged in astrological study for nearly 20 years and serves on the committee at the Astrological Lodge of London. She is a recent graduate of the MA Cultural Astronomy and Astrology course at Bath Spa University and was a speaker at this year?s United Astrology Conference in Denver, Colorado but the Lodge holds a particularly special place in her heart. Alex also teaches English, Astronomy and Latin at a secondary school in London and plays the trumpet in the South London Jazz Orchestra. Quote Mon Feb 23, 2009 2:10 pm
3 by Eddy And tonight it will be Alex Trenoweth. Notice follows. Make it if you can ... Growing Pains: the role of Saturn and Jupiter in the Nativity Tonight I have to stay in the Netherlands . But seriously, I find that there are quite some interesting repetings of planetary positions to be found in adolescence. Apart from the Jupiter return at 12 and the half Saturn at 14/15 there are some interesting positions in relation to the birthdays or solar returns. Mercury 41 synodic returns in almost exactly 13 years Venus 5 synodic returns in almost exactly 8 years 10 synodic returns in almost exactly 16 years (these cycles were known in Medieval times as the Pentagramma Veneris) Mars 7 synodic returns in a bit shorter than 15 years 8 synodic returns in a bit longer than 17 years (15 times in 32 years is a more exact one) Moon 235 synodic returns in almost exactly 19 years (Metonic cycle) And as (parts of) transits Jupiter return = square at 15, and Jupiter return + opposition at 18 Finally, if you use the lunar nodes, the nodal return at 18,613 years. Another cycle is the Saros of 18years and 10 days in which eclipses occur in very similar circumstances. These (synodic) cycles are very interesting and I believe them to be significant in life. Perhaps in a biological/organic sense. Quote Mon Feb 23, 2009 5:47 pm
