Grand National today 1 by stanstar I was looking at last years predictions and noticed that only Deb picked the winner. I know there is not much time left before the race starts but here is my guess. Strongest planet in the chart for 4.15pm Aintree I think is Sun in Aries house 8. Looking at the list of horses with a name that fits the Sun in Aries is My Will asuming that the Will in the name refers to power of the will, intention etc. and the other connotation of My Will ie. my last will and testimony what better placement than house 8. 2 by Ficina Hi Stan, I found this year's chart rather uninspiring but I agree My Will looks good for the reasons you suggest. Last time I checked it was the favourite I noted Golden Flight (Moon in Leo applying trine Sun) but it's around 66/1! Venus makes the closest aspect to the MC and since it's retro I wondered if the race might go to last year's winner, Comply or Die. 3 by stanstar Hi Ficina Well I lost a tenner. Mon mome won at 100-1 I couldn't see that one at all. And using John Addey's method of moving the 5th house cusp anti- clockwise and connecting with the nearest aspect would have given us Venus in Aries in H7.According to the TV commentator Mon mome means my kid in French. With 2 false starts the race was later starting than 4.15 and I tried the later time of 4.23 in retrospect to see if there were any changes but couldn't see any. 4 by Ficina Sorry about your tenner, Stan. Comply or Die finished 2nd and My Will was 3rd. Not too bad really, considering only 17 finished out of 40. Golden Flight fell at the first fence I think the Venus factor was Venetia Williams, the winning trainer. Only the second lady trainer ever to win the National. Looking at the runners the night before (Fri) and after conducting an (far less than thorough) expoloration of the scheduled start time of the race, my money was on 'Iron Man' based on Mer. being the chart ruler and placed in the 8th (widely) conjunct the Aries Sun (Iron/Masculine) with Venus applying. 7 by Ficina Hi Xanny, It's a rotten way to lose your money when the horse doesn't even run. Commiserations However, I've just checked and it appears that Iron Man was only on the reserves list. A maximum of 40 horses are allowed to run in the National, so unless any of the 40 confirmed runners are withdrawn before 9.30am on the previous day (Friday), then the reserves have no chance of taking part. There were no withdrawals, so Iron Man should not have appeared on a running list on the Friday evening.
