In the chart below the sigs are Mars and Venus. Mars is separating from a sextile with Jupiter and Venus will later sextile it too, so is Jupiter then collecting their light here?

From the graphic it looks like both are still applying to Jupiter, in which case Jupiter is collecting their light. But if Mars is already separating from Jupiter as you say, then Jupiter is not collecting the light - but it is still interposing its aspect between the two of them, and since this is Jupiter, in a good house and a good aspect, it can still signify someone or something who interferes in a helpful way. (I'm not looking at too many details, to keep the principle simple).

Thanks for the clarification Deb. Mars being at 28'26 Aries is separating from Jupiter 26'35Aqua. (I know in the image it looks like Mars is at 26 deg)
