how to find relevant houses for new job situation 1 by tania Hi everybody, this morning I was asked a question if to change a job as an employee in an beauty institute and to open up an own activity. Ok, I guess that's 6th and 10th themes. But there was still an other possibility about to get a kind of own " self administrated corner" not as an employee (own clients, she just pays some kind of fee for the corner) but still not really as indipendent in an other beauty center. Since this is not a question about a new job, but a new job on indipendent base in an existing environment, I'm not sure where to search the significator for this "half indipendent job". Mark E. Jones quotes the 2nd of the 6th house for the new job but in classical Astrology I don't know where to search. Can somebody help? Tania Quote Wed Sep 23, 2009 4:51 pm
2 by tania the question was as an employee in a beauty farm and get indipendent opening my own business . i was offered to run a indipendent corner in a yet existing institute as well but it woul not be as indipendent as something run by my own, Quote Wed Sep 23, 2009 6:28 pm
3 by johannes susato In my opionion the new job ("to run an independent corner in a yet existing insitute") is signified by the lord of the tenth house. To signify the old job is not necessary then: A Yes would mean to turn to the new job, a No to stick to the old one. Would you mind to give the data of the question or another chart because the positions of the planets are obscure? Many thanks! Johannes Quote Wed Sep 23, 2009 8:12 pm
4 by tania Hi Johannes, if you click on the thumb nail, the graphic will open up. But even so, question time was 22.9.2009 9.00 a.m Perugia, Italy. But you missunderstood me. The main question was not to open the corner in the existing store. This is just a second possibility. the main question is about to run an independ business (10th house). The actual job should be in the 6th house. Ok. But what about this second possibility which the questioner does not even quote really much? I want to ckeck this possibility bevore telling her that's not the rught moment to go away from the job. Sun in 12th, mercury retrograde in the 12th, venus (she) in fall in the 11th, moon (job in fall in the 2nd). I see hope (a trine between moon and the mc but there is the south node, old pattterns she may repeat...) but not really power for new patterns. so long! Quote Wed Sep 23, 2009 9:25 pm
5 by johannes susato Thanks again for the data, Tania! I really dont know if the classical authorities say something of the signifcators of two 'equal' things. Presumably it is better to ask two different questions, one for each thing. Imagine there would be more possibilities than two . . . In any case the querents profession is signified by the tenth house in my opinion and not by the sixth - at least from a classical point of view. But it would be more than interesting to read quotes of the ancients on this theme. Johannes Quote Wed Sep 23, 2009 10:18 pm
6 by aglaya Hi, tania! I'll try to give you my opinion on one thing at a time: - as for the rulership- i'd by all means use the 10th cusp. It is her new (potential but regardless) job, new business endeavour, something that she wants to make her living from and to be successful in. So, it's the 10th. I'm not sure I completely understand her position in the whole story but, for what is worth- when someone decides to open a shop in an already existing shopping centre full of other shops- we are still talking about that person's 10th- it is his/her business. - the 2nd is her money- it has got a lot do with this question but the 2nd ruler does not rule the profession or a job. It's their money and should be examined as she (or he) is probably thinking of investing some. You might also want to check the 11th- some would suggest that the earnings (from a specific job- the 10th) should be examined through that house- I'm not very keen on giving it advantage over the 2nd but, in this case, maybe it would be a smart idea to include it int the reading; the 2nd is her money and certainly offers a description of her current financial situation and that is something she is, i assume, also interested finding out more about while the 11th, as a house succedent to the 10th and could be descriptive of her incomes in terms of the results of her work -its profitability (it's just a thought, though, like i said, the 2nd is the house of the Querent's money). -the 6th could be descriptive of the working environment but, even more important, of her employees (her subordinates) -finally, i agree with Johannes about the two questions. It's seems like a much better idea to stick to the main question and to one of the jobs. if she intends to bring a decision on whether she will keep her old job or start a new business- a chart cast for the new job should be sufficient IMO. According to the shape of the 10th, its ruler, the Asc ruler etc. she will get a better insight into the possibilities and potential successfulness of her new business venture! If it does not look promising- she should not go for it. if, on the other hand, it does- she should! She already knows what her current job looks like and she should be able to compare the known facts (current job) with the chart promise (for the new job) and bring a constructive decision even without casting a chart for the old job. Of course, unless she would like to know as to what she might expect if she does keep her current job in which case, for the sake of comprehensiveness (and sanity )- I'd probably decide to cast two charts! Of course, which ever way you decide to go- make sure to check the signs in which the relevant cusps and angles are placed- fixed signs suggest inertion but also stability. At this point, much will depend upon the question; are you asking about stability of the current job and ;Should I stay here; should keep this job; Is this current job likely to stay as successful as it is now in the future etc. because, then, fixed could be suggesting that the things are not likely to change and, at least in the last example, that would actually mean that the current job would survive (recession! )! On the other hand, if the Querent were to ask about starting something new or making a change and if you'd find relevant cusps in fixed signs, that would probably be suggesting that a change is not likely to happen. And so on! It's one same thing only must be examined differently, depending on the nature of the question and of the Querent's wish! Hope at least some of this makes sense! P.S. I refered to the Querent as a woman a few times, I hope I didn't make a mistake. Last edited by aglaya on Thu Sep 24, 2009 6:20 pm, edited 4 times in total. Quote Thu Sep 24, 2009 12:51 am

Hello Aglaya. Thank you so much for the time you spend to help me! Perhaps I should repeat the question more clearly. Should I leave my actual job and open up my own institute. That's the main question. Talking about, the woman told me she was offered to work in a half -independent role in an other institute as well. (she would administrate her own clients and money, paying some kind of fee for her place, but the center would not be hers). I just wanted to check this possibility before talking to her. i hope, now the question is more evident for you. If you see the chart, ac ruler is venus in 11th in virgo, cadent but in trip, moon (the new job ) is in scorpio cadent, in trip and in 2nd house. they do not make any aspect anymore. furthermore, sun and mercury are in 12th house and mercury (decisions, business) is retrograde. Moon makes a trine to the 10th house cusp (good news) but there is the south node trining urano in the 6th house (changing job environement) as well. Do you work with the nodes ? it makes me feel like running her own business, she repeats some old mistakes. The big trine I interpret as a wish to change job(environement) to improve income. But moon is in the last 3 degrees ( object of question could change or not be anymore relevant for the questioner). And the moon squares jupiter (neptun and chiron). Quote Thu Sep 24, 2009 4:37 pm

Should I leave my actual job and open up my own institute. That's the main question That's what i least like about this question! We've got two jobs in it! Still, it's here. I believe I'd either use the 10th in general and see if there are any indications of a change or, even more likely, simply use the 10th for her new job and see what the chart would got to say. if it does not look promising- she should keep the status quo and stay where she is! This is just my opinion , of course! That said- the 10th cusp is in a cardinal sign which could be an indication of change. The Querent's ruler in inside the 11th probably suggesting that running a business on her own is her great wish (rather then just a new professional adventure)! The Moon's placement inside the 2nd, on the other hand, is probably suggesting that the money (either the incomes or the money that she would, i assume, have to invest) is of her biggest concern at the moment. Both planets are actually succedant rather than cadent and, while the Moon will not perfect any more aspects before leaving the sign, it is already applying to Venus, the Asc ruler and I would not consider it to be VOC- but the out of the sign application could be (and probably is) saying something. I'm not keen to believe that it is announcing a change of mind as the Querent's ruler has just stepped into a new sign while the Moon herself is applying to it. But it's a stressful aspect and there is no mutual reception- both planets are poorly placed and, while Venus indeed is in its own triplicity, it is also fallen; and so is the Moon. Of course, the planets are applying to each other from the siigns of long ascension which might "reduce" the tension of the square but I don't see it as a smooth process even then. As for the other Moon's aspects that you're mentioning- they are all separating aspects and, thus, descriptive of the past events. ;-9 Quote Fri Sep 25, 2009 10:34 pm

That's what I thougt. A mere wish, and she IS deeply concernd about money (single mum with small income) Both planets are actually succedant rather than cadent Thats what I meant. They are not cadent but fallen, that was a problem with the translation, sorry, but we agree. But what do you think about the nodes ? the south node makes a trine to the moon and is on the cusp of the 10th, this can't bee left unconsidered! For me, as i wrote, that's a past time pattern as well, she risks to behave as in other circumstances but wich won't evolve her. She should have a look on her 4th house matter. (Indeed, she could work from home, that's what she really would like to but she doesn't see how to realize this). and, while the Moon will not perfect any more aspects before leaving the sign, it is already applying to Venus, the Asc ruler and I would not consider it to be VOC- but the out of the sign application could be (and probably is) saying something. probably you are right, even if i was tought thas aspects out of sign were not to consider. but i belief nothing in a chart is to let beside. What to you think about mercury retro ? it's no ruler of the question but i think it describes very well the situation. And he is coming from 11th (wish) to 12th (introspectiion, unresolved matters..) And mercury rules business, I mean she would like to open up a little commercial activity. Don't we have a look at it as well? Quote Sun Sep 27, 2009 10:08 am
