The commercial Norwegian television channel TVNorge posted the final edition of the Daily News-hotspot 'Aktuelt' yesterday, on Sunday, September 27. 2009, at 22.30 CST. This puts an end to 18 years of news broadcasting. The decision to lay down the both the news, sport, the weather and spotlight from 01.01.2010 was announced on May 12. 2009. The 18 year interval of news transmissions closely agrees with the nodal cycle of 18,6 years or a Saros cycle of 18,02 years (223 moons), which is interesting from the perspective of having monitored events in the world at large. News production is considered an expensive affair that digs into a huge slice of the budget of any television company. TVNorge will in the future focus soley on entertainment. (Source)

But TVNorge isn't the only channel struggling: The Big Brother within commercial Norwegian television stations, TV2, that had its first braodcast on September 5. 1992 at 21.00 CST, has to cut over ? 15 million as a consequence of shrinking incomes. (Source 1, Source 2)

The governmental financed channel NRK are in despair after Alexander Rybak won this years Eurovision Song Contest (Skyscript) with the song Fairy Tale. Next years arrangement at Telenor Arena in Oslo is expected to cost over ? 20 million. NRK have already turned down the rights to send matches from the World Cup in football and have beckoned authorities to increase television licenses to cover the cost. (Source). The date for the Eurovision Song Contest final 2010 has already been moved from May 22. to May 29. to avoid colliding with the football final in the Champions League (Source). The Eurovision Song Contest final was originally due to start at 21.00 CST on May 22. 2010, which put the Moon at 25VI23 on the MC at 25VI21. Note the opposition between Saturn at 27VI52 and Jupiter at 27PI49 with Uranus at 19PI50. The NRK has expanded aggressively the last decade or so. They started broadcasting across a 2nd channel NRK2 on September 1. 1996. Then NRK3 and NRK Super started up on a 3rd channel from September 3. 2007. There has been considerable expenses in connection with the change from analog signals to a digital network.
