I'm still thinking :) but my first thought was- i wouldn't use any of those houses.
Copy right dues is not really their money- it's her income. Publishers don't buy off her rights (in which case, we would really have to check their pockets) but have control over the money that she earns (when the book is sold). if she were still at the beginning of the process i.e. if she were waiting for them to publish the book then I would probably look at the 2nd because the publishers do invest. But here it isn't the case.
To me, two different options seem like a much better solution:
a) her 2nd (her money)
b) the 11th (the profit - having a book published looks like a clear 10th house matter to me).

Hi, Alchemist,

I would just take the 8th, because of my understanding of the question.

Your friend is not an employee of the publisher, so it is not about wages. I disagree a little with Aglaya because we are not talking about the success of a possible enterprise (writing a book). We are talking about a book, that, as I far as I understand, have already had a few sales and publishes is withholding the profits.

I don?t feel the nature of their business have anything with the question. Your friend have a contract with them, and they own him money, it is really not that important what they do in the context of the question.

It is that old "will they pay me back", where the enemy take the 7th house and their money the 8th. Look for contacts between lord of 8th and 2nd, ignore contacts between lord of 1st and 7th.

Hi all,
I agree with Yuzuru: I would look at the 8th and the 2nd house: is there an applying aspect between the 2 significators, or is the Moon applying to the lord of the 2nd, a planet in the 2nd, especially a fortune, or to the cusp of the 2nd, or to the lord of the 1st or the ascendant? If so, especially with reception, the chances are good that your friend will receive the money.
bye,
Tienka

Exactly. As Yuzuru and Tienka have stated, it?s an 8th house matter. Apart from what the guys have said, look for contacts between the lord of the 8th and the lord of the 1st (money getting to her hands).

Have a good one and luck for your friend :)

Yuzuru has probably got the point ! and, having mentioned his logic, what i wanted to add in my previous post and then forgot was that, surely, if you decide to examine the house of "their money" then the 8th would make much more sense than the 10th (2nd from 9th).
Others agree that it is an 8th house matter - it obviously is a better choice then! ;-)

The 9th house rules books and publishers, therefore it would be logical to assume that the 2nd from the 9th could be related to the question. However, the chart itself seems to favour the 8th house (typical question about money owed), so I chose that.

I understood that! only it appears that the 8th is a better solution here. The book has been published (the 9th) only now the Querent is waiting for the money from a very specific person or group of people and so, obviously, it seemed like a clear example of a 7th house matter - the other party! And, if we look at it that way, then the pocket of that person becomes the 8th!
