She also intends to charge for its usage. It is not clear if she just means energy or usage such as astrologers use the Sun. This could get expensive.

Interesting. I'll pop my claim in for the whole universe and all its parallel one. Must think big!
However the flaw in her thinking is that ownership isn't enough. You must be able to control access, or have an army that can enforce your rights. And. so far, I don't see her controlling many armies and unless she has a very very large sun blocking blanket to hand, she going to have some trouble with collecting those licensing fees.
I would love to draft a legal defense to her claim. I need to change careers - mine is so last millenium.
