Solstice Lunar Eclipse

greetings, just noticed on my ephemeris, that there will be a lunar eclipse at 29 Gemini 21, which would only be what? an hour before the solstice point, that is rather close, just thought I'd bring it up! this happens in my neck of the woods at 14 minutes into the 21st, but would happen anywhere east of PST on the 20th, so about 16:14 Greenwich time? I should think since we are +8.

Also of note, 25 december the sun is always at about 4 Capricorn, note that Pluto is at 4 Cap 57 on the 21st so likely similarly placed by the 25th, with Mars also in CAP and applying to a square to Saturn. it is a bit of a sharp chart I think. Reminding me of mining issues, explosions and earthquakes. with capricorn I suppose mountain avalanches or sea problems might be an issue, but I think more the former than the latter, anyway thought I'd mention it.

Ooh yeah. The Capricorn Ingress chart for the Koreas is downright scary.

I haven't even looked at that yet! The Lunar eclipse is hitting off a key angle in the foundational Aries Ingress charts for both Koreas.

my ephemeris says 00:14 21 dec 2010 for the eclipse. so yes you are correct because that would be 11:14, for the next time zone west and 1:14 for the next one east of me. sorry for any confusion.

Looking at the differences in time data:
"Ecliptic Conjunction = 08:14:33.1 TD ( = 08:13:26.0 UT )
Greatest Eclipse = 08:18:03.7 TD ( = 08:16:56.6 UT )"

it appears that your ephemeris uses the time of ecliptical conjunction rather than closest approach of the centers of Sun and Moon, and perhaps that also the Dynamical Time is used. (For the differences see http://www.cv.nrao.edu/~rfisher/Ephemerides/times.html ). It usually depends on how long ago the ephemeris was printed.

The eclipsed Moon in 30 Gemini will be setting in London, ruled by Gemini. When an eclipse or lunation occurs in the 30th degree of a sign, a certain rally or movement often appears to come to the end of a thread.

It is a long time since I have seen such a situation of stirr and unrest on the streets of London, with young people (Gemini) in particular protesting against the new tax/toll policies imposed on higher education (Sagittarius)

I somewhat suspect that the education taxes may be revised, because it seems to me the charts show that the people and the wealth are with the kids on this one. I could be mistaken, but really, investing in education is the one thing you can do to improve everyones overall quality of life, so it doesn't make sense to restrict it financially and it seems to me its leaning that way, at least with the new moon chart I saw, as well as the chart for the mars moving into Cap. both those charts seem to favor NOT the Government decision but the peoples.

Also I think that Pluto line going right up through Ca, bothers me a bit as well as the sun, moon Mercury lines going through the Aleutian islands. I shall hope for good things. :)

Those lines that go through North Korea also skim the coast of japan, though of course anything that effects the Korea's will affect japan.

Can any of you recommend good/helpful sources on lunar/solar eclipses and their meaning in mundane astrology?

Is it just about change? Do they just "rev up" the energies of planets/points they are aspecting (such as Pluto and the nodes in the Dec. 21 one)?

Also, do we read each eclipse as part of the current lunation cycle? So a full moon that is a lunar eclipse will just be a heightened/crazier full moon? Is the lunar eclipse then the culmination of what began at the new moon?

Or is each eclipse part of a cycle that has to do with the previous and/or forthcoming eclipse? I've read before that eclipses come in pairs... but how do you know what the pairs are? [/code]
