The Grand Lady of Czech astrology is gone: Jindriska Johanisova died on January 29, 2011 at the age of 79. Some of you might have known her directly: she was (at lest for the first decade after 1989) the sole translator of English astrological materials to Czech language. Over the years, it had to be hundreds of articles translated. Also, she was a practicing astrologer with a devoted and loyal clientele. She was also much sought-after astrological guide thru Prague (about which she knew so much) for any foreign astrological colleagues who came through Prague. We will miss her dearly.

Paul, I was not familiar with Jindriska Johanisova, but she sounds like a very generous soul whose combined knowledge and wisdom enriched many, many lives. I am sorry about her loss, both for Czech astrology and the extended astrological community.

It sounds like she was a pivotal person in the astrology scene there and made a big impression. She clearly gave a lot to astrology, and was much appreciated for it.
