Great link for dynamic visuals of the cosmos

An astrologer friend sent me this link today - it really is a wonderful dynamic model. Set the system to Tychonian and show the zodiac for a moving representation of the astrological view (you can trace geocentric planetary motions too):

Wonderfull tool! Too bad Safari crashes heavily on it; luckily Firefox has no problem with it.

The switch between Copernican and Tichonian view is really enlightening for astrology-students...

Strange... While some planets are shown in the Signs we know they are (Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Uranus in Aries) for the Sun in Aries 2011, we see Saturn is actually in Virgo right now. Isn't that odd?

With the new update from Adobe Flashplayer it works also in Safari (MAc)

Had troubles with Firefox as well, but with the update from Adobe it works fine. Thanks for the tip and a wonderfull tool indeed! :)

Well observed Tzadde. The geocentric gives incorrect positions because the proportions of the distances of the planets to the Sun aren't as according to the Titius Bode law. Furthermore the heliocentric view also gives incorrect positions because the orbits aren't circles and gravitational perturbations probably aren't used either. So you only get the "mean" positions of the planets. It's probably a not very complicated computer program but a nice and informative idea though. By the way, if you set the year on 10,000,000,000 then you still get results. The solar system wil have ceased to exist and long before even the major planets will have differed in orbits because of the chaotic issues in the solar system.
