I'm currently reading Mark Anderson's biography of Edward de Vere, and am totally convinced by his argument. I assume the April 12, 1550 OS date is canonical. The bio states de Vere studied "cosmography" and, since, Dee was a major Elizabethan cosmographer, wonder if there is classical horoscopic study out on de Vere?

the date seems canonical -- found in Burghley's records

Did Nelson give a date other than April 12, 1550 which may not be correct. Anderson thinks that Burghley put it in his notes 25 years after the fact to thwart curiosity -- but this to support that deVere the bastard of Elizabeth -- a consequent of Thomas Seymour, the Dowager Queen Katherine's (new, post henry viii) husband
