This is probably one of the most tenuous links ever on Skyscript so I hope I will be permitted a bit of shameless self induldence here. I cant resist promoting this Danish band: The Asteroids Galaxy Tour and in particular this track The Golden Age.

The band has come to the attention of a UK audience as their track is the soundtrack for the current Heineken Beer ad here.

The TV version has a lavish nightclub/hotel party setting but this video version focuses on a fantasy galaxy tour around the solar system ( sort of!) . I dont pretend this music is especially deep or profound but it is great to chill to and is a bit addictive. That might have a lot to do with the musical and visual charm of the lead singer Ms Mette Lindberg.

Well she is undeniably blonde and attractive. A bit skinnier than Debbie Harry I think and certainly no clone physically. However, the band have certainly borrowed from the Blondie set up and 60's psychedelia like the Beatles and Jefferson Airplane. However the Saxophones , trumpet and piano give a rather different retro Jazz like feel on some of their tracks. There is also a dash of Bjork with quirky Scandavian English giving a sound many English speakers find very attractive for some reason.

The extended version of the the Heineken ad 'the entrance' features The Asteroids as the party band and has the most charismatic party guest you could ever meet.
