Help needed using Morinus software

Hello guys!

My problem is simple, but it is bothering me...

I do not use Morinus very often but now I have some students interested in PM and I suggested the present software and I have to explain them how to use it. And I decided to write expecting that someone will be able to give me some hint on my issue, i.e. ?how to cast correctly the chart?"

When I cast a chart, as I live in Brazil, lat 23S32 and long 46W37 and the zone is BZ2T +3:00 I chose Gregorian, Zone +3, and Local Mean or Apparent. Both give me more or less 2 degrees after the right degree of the Ascendant!

When I know the true ASC I adjust the birth hour to the point that the right ASC is given, but it is time to fix whatever is happening.
I must have been doing something wrong.

For example, for a nativity occurred at 09/09/1974 at 7 PM I got 2 or 3 degrees of Aries ascending. The right one is 1 degree, given by Solar Fire, Janus, etc.

I have been looking and looking the old posts about Morinus, but nobody had a question like mine!

Do any of you have any idea to explain what I?m missing or doing wrong?

Thank you !

Hi Cl?lia,

I created the chart through Morinus, I am getting ascendant as 1 degree 47' Aries.

The bottelneck is that you must here not choose Zone +3, but -3

Yes of course: thanks for pointing this out! After thanking Vasanth I realized that the Local Mean time helped me to maintain an ASC only one degree ahead: if I had not used Local Mean the difference would be of 90 degrees!
Janus confused me, because there it is said that my country is +3:00.
