The accident actually took place on 17 February, a week earlier than the date you mentioned. I don't know if that makes any difference with the techniques you are using.

Could you please elaborate a little, both on the time of birth as you state it and on your astrological reasoning? What degree on the ascendant are you using, and with which ayanamsha? Thank you.

Almost 90% of practising astrologers would use Vimshottari dasa on this and he is in Mercury-Venus sub period which is actually very good for power and fame and the 10th lord moon jouns it as well.
So, what went wrong- The problem is with the aspect of debilitated saturn which has the cancellation off debility but still very erratic and a yogakaraka for libra ascendant.
There is one more thing the astrologers, especially in south fuss over a lot- it is called "Gulika" - it acts like a very naughty saturn. Gulika is in the ascendnat of this chart spoiling things.

Many astrologers use the "Yogini dasa" - which is a 36 yr cycle and quite easy to interpret, he has the Mars yogini period running and mars for libra ascendant is a "Maraka' or death causing planet.

There additional evidence and it is in the territory of Martin Gansten- it is the "Muntha " in annual revolution chart- it is in the 8th house of the "Varshaphala chart".

Your use of kota chakra was noteworthy but tithi pravesha is rarely used at least I don't know how to interpret it.

He may well have enjoyed those results in the Mercury-Venus period, too. But just to make a case for Vimshottari (which is not one of my standard techniques), Mercury and Venus do rule the 12th and 8th houses, respectively. Also, the aspect of Saturn that you mention is made all the more important by the fact that Saturn in transit had just stationed right on the natal Mercury-Venus conjunction at the time of the accident. The transits of and to the period rulers are typically considered important. (Venus was transiting the 6th house at the time.)

Balabhadra, writing in the 17th century, quotes two earlier authors on this placement:

Well, as I said, I don't use Vimshottari much (or any other exclusively Indian technique, for that matter). In my experience, dashas perform rather erratically, though Vimshottari actually works very well in my own nativity. Everything that happened in the various sub-periods of my Saturn dasha (19 years) seems to be happening again in my present Mercury dasha (17 years), only now everything happens twice! Some texts and astrologers say that Vimshottari is universally applicable; others disagree. Historically, the techniques used seem to have varied regionally.

Indian astrology isn't really as different from other kinds as some people like to think (the atrocious translations of Indian texts, with many crucial terms left untranslated, are partly to blame). The planets have their natural significations and their accidental significations, and manifest both, sometimes together. Thus, a corrupted or afflicted benefic may show pleasures (such as a skiing holiday) turning into a nightmare, just as a dignified malefic may show a struggle leading to dreams coming true.

Is the muthaha the ruler of the Solar return chart?

It is the profected ascendant, that is, the degree of the natal ascendant moved forward by one sign per year of life (so that it returns to its original position on birthdays 12, 24, etc). The Arabic term is ?intih?; another form derived from the same root is muntah?. These words have been borrowed into Sanskrit in slightly varying forms (munth? being perhaps the most commonly cited variant) and are used interchangeably in Sanskrit works.

So for a libra ascendant, Venus will primarily give results of 1st house and mercury of 9th house and Saturn will be a specially beneficial planet as it owns both a an angle and a trine but it is in fall.

If you want to make life easy and deal with smaller chunks use the Yogini Dasa.
