Hi
In the example Dykes provides ,he says that for a Gemini ASC like M. Jackson, if Mercury is poorly aspected,he can try to find "happiness" via one of the triplicity rulers. However I fail to see how a planet like Saturn could do that? Gemini needs freedom of expression. How can Saturn ever allow that given its basic nature?

Thanks

Saturn gives structure. Freedom of expression can be obtained through structure. Beethoven and Mozart did it in the music field, to name two.

Probably the best example of this is the cabinet making (furniture building) of the Shakers. Their work was limited by religious beliefs to simplicity and functionality, yet they managed to produce works of great beauty as well. There is a strong difference between freedom of expression and lack of self discipline.

Yes, Tom is right.

In one of the examples I post few days ago on this forum, we see Saturn dignified in 9th as ruler of first. This guy goes for building a structure of Authority and Power, that is, his primary motivation is oriented toward Freedom of Movement (air signs) in goal of building an Authoritative Structure in life. Having Saturn dignified [and other finer points] says to us that he will most probably be successful in that, especially because it is a day chart and Saturn rejoice above the horizon.

Ah you hit the nail in the thread.I am in the music business now,and I tend to pay a lot of attention to the maths of guitar, sort of Bach of electric guitar. I tend to forget that Mercury is also about hand ability, and in Aquarius t fits with electric stuff, though this seems to be related to the modern version of Aquarius ruled by Uranus

It also seems there are lot of people with Mercury in Aquarius playing all kinds of instruments which don't have the slightest thing to do with electricity...
