A notice from the Astrological Association of Great Britain:
Applications are invited for the role of Astrological Association Journal Editor/Production Manager from the January 2014 issue. The post is a part-time position and the appointment would be for a three year period.

The Journal has a circulation of between 700 - 1500, currently publishes six issues per year and is dedicated to publishing the best work in all areas of astrology. This is a high-profile job in the astrological community, and the editor is able to shape and direct the debates and flow of information within astrology, maintaining the Journal's high standards and international reputation.

The editor/production manager will be able to work on his/her own, work to overall editorial guidelines and will report to the AA council.

The position entails the co-ordination and collection of articles from a variety of astrological branches and who will network with authors, potential contributors, printers and proof readers. Each issue requires the use of appropriate software for DTP to format the publication and will need to work to stringent deadlines to ensure production is of the highest quality.

The successful applicant will have the following;

Essential
? An understanding of the various branches of astrology
? Good experience in DTP using Indesign, Quark or other similar packages
? Be able to provide both print and e-formats for each publication
? Be actively engaged in the astrological community
? Have a proven track record of working to strict deadlines
? Possess excellent communication skills

Desirable
? Have experience working as an editor
? Have been published
? Have a proven track record co-ordinating and managing production
? Be able to demonstrate networking and active social media skills
? Familiarity with copyright and editorial guidelines

The AA pays a fee for each issue. Essential production and editorial expenses are also paid.
