Aspect or mutual reception wins the job?

Hi Folks

Here is an interesting chart with a known outcome.

I went for a job interview this morning and when I came home I cast the chart for "Will I get the job".

Moon applies to L10 from rulership. Super!

But, look at the other candidate(s). L7 sitting in L10 and with mutual reception.

They said they would let me know today... and they did : )

(I can't post charts, not because I can't read the instructions but because I work on an ancient computer with rubbish software!)

As in job questions you need an aspect between the significators, the application of the Moon in her exaltation to the trine of Venus, the Moon being received by Venus in her house, and the trine being out of good houses, will bring the job to you.

Pallene lives in the future!

so Here is a question. We have MR between L7 and L10, L7 is in 10th house so does this indicate that the job was interested in L7 or L7 was interested in 10? But L10 didnt bulge because moon got to L10 faster?

PallasAthene,
in addition to my first text concerning you main job question I would like to add that in certain questions a mutual reception might be enough to bring the quesited about. Lilly mentions some examples in the second book of is CA. But in job questions aspects are essentials (Frawley) and indeed I have never seen mutual receptions alone, i.e. without aspects, bringing a job to the querent.

Furthermore I doubt that in this question concerning YOUR job it was 'correct', to consider the competitors at all, because they were not asked about, and your question is answered clearly by the chart.

But of course we need your confirmation, that your question has - hopefully - not been the exception from the rule! :D

Thank you both for joining in : )
And thank you cosmicdolphin for uploading the chart and and correcting my data!

I'm going to wait till next week to see if anyone else has an opinion on the chart. It's the big UK conference this week and I expect that quite a few members are attending. Sorry to keep you in suspense : )

Hi Pallas

I agree with the others, particularly Johannes. I think yes the querent got the job.

But I consider receptions of any kind to be descriptive of aspects, and so without any aspects we do not have any true reception. Mutual reception included. Instead we can have two planets in each others rulership, called generosity, which is also beneficial, and which is what modern astrologers mean by mutual reception. However, for me, reception implies something descriptive about an aspect.

With that in mind, I do not see Lord 10 and Lord 7 in mutual reception. Lord 7, if we were to consider it, being in the 10th is a minor form of perfection for me, but only if we are to consider competitors. Like Johannes, I'm not convinced we ought to.

Instead, I think the Moon applying to and received by Venus, Lord 10, is enough to show that the querent gets the job.

Do they generally ring back to tell someone that they have not been offered a job ;-)

I think this job was offered to someone else- mutual reception between 7th and 10th lord but the financial demands of that person(exalted moon ) was too much for the employers(10th lord in fall) and Merc conj contrascion of venus.

So, finally it was offered to the querent.
Moon translates light from Venus to Jupiter.

Both , the employer and the other candidate may have known the querent or may have worked together: Merc sextile separating Jupiter.
