Will my cat return home? 1 by Ninneveh Got home from work yesterday at 7 pm to find my cat missing. Theres a doggydoor which he regularly uses to go in and out of the house. This is the first time where he's not come home after being outside for a couple of hours at most. My question is will he come back home? Any insight at all would be much appreciated In the whole sign chart the Ascendant (though late) is Capricorn and the 6th house is Gemini. Lot of Fortune is in the 6th house, and 6th lord significator Mercury is angular in 4th house, although in a sign of Mars. Mercury is trine to both Ascendant lord (owner) Saturn and 4th lord (home) Mars. Saturn is also retrograde and will meet Mercury's direct motion. All of this to me suggests he will come home. The only thing nagging me is the late ascendant issue, that Mercury is combust, and that the sun is below the horizon while the moon is above. Quote Sat Mar 26, 2016 4:36 pm
2 by Lazarus I would say the testimonies all look positive, especially since the Moon, general significator of lost animals, is moving toward the MC and possibly a trine to Venus with some minor reception if she is in the bound of Venus (I cannot tell). If Mercury is exiting out from under the beams (phasis) then this is a strength and it is different than if he were approaching a conjunction with the Sun. I also like that fortuna sits in the 6th house and that Mercury is conjoined to the head of the dragon by antisica, giving it an accidental fortitude. As far as the timing goes I cannot see the degree of the MC but it looks to be approximately 15 dgrs. If we use the Moon for timing then we are looking at fixed/succedent (slow-medium). Then we must choose the unit of time. Knowing more about the Moon's speed would help. If it is slow then we might choose the slowest time unit, but if it is fast then we might go with the medium time unit. To be honest I would probably have cast this chart in Regiomontanus cusps but it may not make a huge difference. So I don't know what you feel a valid time frame might be but if we went with days/weeks/months and chose weeks as medium then we would have about 8 weeks. This sounds a little ridiculous to me so I wonder if days makes more sense. I have to admit the timing here is giving me a bit of trouble. If we use Mercury then I think our testimony should be fast, because he is in a cardinal sign and basically cadent due to the distance between himself and the IC. Also the Moon could be considered angular because she is so close to an angle, and that gives us fast. So perhaps somewhere in the nature of 8 days is our answer. Quote Tue Mar 29, 2016 7:56 pm
3 by Ninneveh Thank you for replying Lazarus, it's very much appreciated I'm interested in your use of antiscia in horary, is there a source where this is applied or it something you worked out on your own? I would be inclined to go with fast as the unit of time for selfish reasons myself, lol. I noticed that if we take the difference between the degrees of saturn and mercury we also get 8, and between saturn and moon we get 9, so maybe the answer is that he'll return within 8-9 days, God willing. Hello Just wanted to point out that Mercury's contra-antiscia is actually in the degree of the south node i.e. tail of the dragon in Pisces. I noticed that if we take the difference between the degrees of saturn and mercury we also get 8, and between saturn and moon we get 9 The Moon is in Scorpio, Saturn in Sagittarius, so they're 39 degrees apart. Anyway, that Mercury-Saturn trine does look promising and should indicate the cat's return. 5 by Lazarus Actually what was meant by the Moon/Saturn distance was the degrees before the Moon makes a semi-sextile to Saturn and this was an aspect that Lilly sometimes, though rarely, employed himself. Furthermore, with regard to Mercury's antiscia being conjoined to the NN, the fact that his contra-antiscia is conjoined to SN is not so important because the nodes are always 180dgrs apart and therefore a planet conjoined the either node is always opposed to the other one. It is clear that the nodes themselves only work by conjunction, they do not cast aspects and certainly do not cast an opposition aspect. As far as using antiscia goes, John Frawley advocates extensive use of it in his Horary Textbook. I never analyze any chart, natal or horary or whatever, without making use of it. So I would highly recommend that text. Quote Sat Apr 02, 2016 4:54 am
6 by Lazarus Also I need to clarify that earlier when I said the Moon could be taken as showing fast due to being near the MC, what I meant was that an angular planet gains volition and this can mean fast instead of the usual slow, but again only if volition is involved. In the case of an animal this is a possibility I think, but in the case of a package arriving it probably would not change the time-speed of a planet in an angular house. I just noted that it was an interesting coincidence that the difference between the two planets' longitude, irrrespective of the actual distance between them, comes out to 8 as well. And I do hope so too Quote Sat Apr 02, 2016 1:10 pm

The main question here is why would Mercury's antiscia with the north node be of more importance than his contra-antiscia with the south node in this case? 12 by Ninneveh Still searching for my cat, he hasn't come home yet. I've stuck flyers throughout my neighbhorhood and gone door to door. I've been checking in one particular area suggested to me by a psychic dowser. Will keep everyone posted what turns up. Quote Fri Apr 08, 2016 12:10 am
